1. Sponsor
The Fantera Cup is sponsored solely by Fantera, Inc. (“Fantera”), Fort Worth, Texas. Questions go to hello@fantera.net.
2. What the Cup is
The Fantera Cup is a 2026–27 school-year philanthropy competition between recognized Interfraternity Council (IFC) and Panhellenic chapters at seven schools: TCU, SMU, Baylor, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and Houston. Each campus runs its own Cup. Each enrolled chapter competes as a crew in the Fantera app, and the standings are the app's Crews leaderboard for that school: the chapter whose crew has the highest season total on the leaderboard when standings close on Friday, April 30, 2027 is the top chapter. At each campus where at least four chapters are ranked, Fantera contributes $1,000 to the top chapter's designated 501(c)(3) philanthropy.
3. Eligibility
A chapter may enroll if it is a recognized IFC or Panhellenic chapter in good standing with its council; a Panhellenic chapter participates where its council has agreed to host the Cup as a council philanthropy competition. Enrollment is by the chapter president. Members participate as users of the Fantera app under the app's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (13 and older). A member's activity counts for the chapter under the leaderboard's own rules: only while the chapter's crew is the member's primary crew for that school, and, for members 18 and older, only while Partner Sharing is on in the app. Fantera employees, contractors, and test accounts may not be members of an enrolled crew. Participation is voluntary for every member and may never be a condition of membership or of new-member education.
4. Enrollment
The president creates the chapter's crew in the app and sends Fantera the crew id (from the app), the chapter's campus, council, name, designated philanthropy, and whether the chapter consents to being named on the public standings page. Members join the crew through the president's link and make it their primary crew for the school. Enrollment is open all year; a chapter's crew earns from the day its members make it their primary crew, so earlier is better, and a crew that already exists keeps what it has earned this season. A chapter may withdraw at any time by email from its president.
5. How standings are computed
A chapter's number is its crew's season total on its school's Crews leaderboard in the Fantera app: the sum, across the leaderboard's tier boards, of what the crew's primary members have earned for the crew this season, counted exactly as the leaderboard counts it. Everything the app rewards counts the way it counts for the leaderboard: checking in at the stadium on game day, posting, polls, predictions, challenges, and packs. While the app's card system is on, the leaderboard counts score, which reflects each member's cards; otherwise it counts FNR. Fantera adds, removes, weights, and caps nothing for the Cup. A chapter is ranked once its crew appears on the leaderboard. Chapters with equal totals share a rank, and if two or more chapters share first place the contribution is divided equally between their philanthropies. Nothing is ever decided by drawing.
6. When it ends
The Cup runs the whole 2026–27 school year. Standings are final at 11:59 PM Central on Friday, April 30, 2027 at every campus and are read from the leaderboard on Monday, May 3, 2027. Every home game the app covers before then counts, football this fall and basketball and baseball through the spring, along with everything else the crew's members earn in the app this season.
7. Records, review, and disputes
The leaderboard is computed by the app from members' own activity under the app's Terms of Service, which allow one account per person and prohibit falsified locations. Before any contribution is made, Fantera checks the top chapters' crews for accounts that violate the Terms and removes those accounts' activity as the Terms already provide; Fantera's determination is final. A chapter may dispute the final standings in writing within 7 days; Fantera will read the leaderboard again once and answer in writing.
8. The contribution
At each campus with a Cup, Fantera makes one contribution of $1,000 to the top chapter's designated philanthropy, which must be an organization recognized as tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (the chapter's national philanthropy partner by default; the chapter names another qualifying organization if the first cannot accept). The contribution is paid within 30 days of the final standings, directly to the organization, never to the chapter or to any person, and never in FNR or any in-app item. If chapters share first place, the contribution is divided equally between their philanthropies. Fantera may announce the contribution with the chapter's consent. Fantera may award a trophy to the top chapter; it has no cash value.
9. No purchase necessary
No purchase, payment, or fee to Fantera is required to enroll a chapter, to join a chapter's crew, to use the Fantera app, to check in, or to earn on the leaderboard; FNR is never sold. A check-in is recorded when a member opens the app while physically within the app's check-in area at the stadium during that game's check-in window. The check-in area extends beyond the stadium gates, so a ticket is not required to check in, and Fantera does not sell tickets; attending a game is each member's own choice and expense, made with the university or a ticket seller and never with Fantera. The Fantera Cup involves no element of chance: the standings are the app's Crews leaderboard, equal totals share a rank, and nothing is ever decided by drawing.
10. Non-affiliation and releases
The Fantera Cup is sponsored solely by Fantera, Inc., Fort Worth, Texas. It is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Apple Inc., Google LLC, Instagram, Meta Platforms, Inc., TikTok, X Corp., or any other platform, and none of them is involved in any way; each participating chapter and member releases those companies from any liability in connection with the Cup. Fantera and the Fantera Cup are not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or administered by any university, athletic department, athletic conference, the NCAA, or any fraternity or sorority or its inter/national organization or council. University names and chapter names appear only to identify where a participating chapter is chartered and which chapter it is; a chapter's participation does not imply endorsement by its inter/national organization, and each chapter is responsible for compliance with its own organization's and university's policies. Texas law governs.
11. Privacy
The app records a member's location only at the moment the member taps Check In, never in the background, under the Fantera Privacy Policy. Fantera shares no member's personal information with a chapter, a council, a university, or anyone else; a chapter sees only its own aggregate standing, and the public standings page shows a chapter's name only with its president's written consent and no member counts. FNR is an in-app reward. It has no cash value, is never sold, and resets each season.
12. Changes
Fantera may correct these rules for clarity or to comply with law; a change that affects standings applies only to games after the change is published here with a new version number and date, and enrolled presidents are notified by email. A campus has no Cup if fewer than four chapters are ranked when its standings become final, in which case no contribution is made for that campus that season.
Version history. Version 2 (September 13, 2026): the Cup runs the whole 2026–27 school year and standings close April 30, 2027. Version 1 (September 13, 2026) closed each campus at its final home football game and was replaced the same day, before any chapter enrolled.
