Sending a notice

A notice must include, and the form below asks for:

• the copyrighted work you say is infringed (a title, and a link to the original if there is one);
• the content on Fantera that infringes it — a link to the post;
• your name, and an email address where we can reach you;
• a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
• a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner, or authorized to act for the owner, of the right that is allegedly infringed; and
• your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name in the form is one).

On a valid notice we remove or disable access to the content, tell the fan who posted it, and keep a record. Fantera terminates the accounts of repeat infringers. Knowingly misrepresenting that content is infringing carries liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

Counter-notices

If your content was removed on a notice and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice through the same form (choose “A counter-notice”). It must identify the removed content, state under penalty of perjury your good-faith belief that it was removed by mistake, give your name and contact information, consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your district (or any district in which Fantera may be found, if you are outside the United States), and state that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice. We forward the counter-notice to that person; if they do not tell us within ten business days that they have filed a court action, we may restore the content.
